epicdays
Need bidding strategy help.I am new to Priceline bidding. I will be attending a conference at the Hyatt Regency downtown Atlanta 8/16-19.I have a room on reserve at group rate of $115 pn. They have Thur/Fri avail. but on wait list for Sat. I would like to bid on 4* Atlanta (Downtown) for 8/16-19. I have read the forum and how to rebid posts, butwould like the strategy from the experts to be certain I don't screw it up and wind up outside of downtown.I tried $51 last night: rejected. Would like to stay under $90. Thanks for any help. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Just to confirm.... you do understand you're not bidding on the Hyatt, but rather a 4* hotel in the given boundary of the zone? Also, is that $90 bid amount or "all-in" (if all-in, what is your maximum bid amount)Are you looking to bid for the complete stay (or just the Saturday nite)?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. epicdays
I understand I am not bidding on just Hyatt, but zone. I am fine with Downtown options. I would like to start bid at $52 and work up to 90. I am looking to bid for complete stay. Are the hotel star ratings the ones listed on PL regular hotel site or do you access them in NYOP site? thereuare
Priceline doesn't tell you what hotels are at which star level. As per the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ, the 'retail product' and the 'name your own price' product draw from a different unverse of hotels, so it's not a relilable way to "see what you'll get". You can use our Priceline Hotel List for this area to see what has previously been reported to the board, but upgrades/downgrades occur all the time, as well as hotels added/removed, so be sure to read the comments at the top of the hotel lists too. When bidding 4* in Atlanta you have 14 re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
