snlevans Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Hi, I have been trying for weeks to get a hotel in NYC for my Mom and her sister (their 1st time to visit). I started my bids around 140 and have been working my way up to about 180. I have been doing this for a few weeks now.......it's kind of wearing me down. Wellllll......tonight I bid up to 201.....then 207 and then it gave me a counter offer to add 25.00 (to make it 232.00/night).....I wanted to stay around 200 but thought what the heck.....I will pay the difference for them.....I really wanted them to stay in a four star for their 1st trip......I've read a few reviews on this hotel and it seems to be really nice. (Sofitel New York)I am happy with my final bid. Many thanks to Thereuare.....you do a great job for this board!!Thanks betterbidding!........all done through savingsbarn.com........Lea :)
bbbb Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I don't know how many free rebids you had left but you can always beat PLs counteroffer.

snlevans Posted August 1, 2007 Author Report Posted August 1, 2007 Hi, I tried to counter-offer at 210 and a red message came up at the top.....I was not sure what to do next (I think you open the internet again and try to up the bid a few dollars again???).....it would not let me move on....I will research it and try that next time.....if it had been a bid for me (and not my Mom).....I would have tried it out. I didn't want to lose a maybe in the works.......I'm pretty new to this process......I really think if I waited maybe a week or week and a half that a lower bid would have been accepted.....Thanks Thereuare......you are such a great help!! Lea from TXThanks betterbidding!
