Sid21 Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Some help required please for a holidayOn hotwire searched for hotel for 28th Sept - 30th Sept, came back with a single hotel in Time Square with following amenities and Description :-This midscale establishment offers more than just the basics in style, comfort and customer serviceFitness CentreBusiness CentreHigh Speed InternetLaundry FacilitiesRestaurantOffer $289 per night, Retail $329I've looked in the listings and it could be either the Paramount or the Crowne Plaza, the paramount doesnt list laundry though but I've looked at the normal prices offered for this date and $329 seems very low for the Crowne Plaza...Anybody have a more educated guess than mine? Many thanks
thereuare Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Have you researched rates for your stay at all?Why consider a 3* property on HOTWIRE when you coudl book a 4* hotel direct from the HOTEL WEBSITE for less ($279/nite non-refundable / $299 refundable)... or is there somethin in particular you're looking for from this stay? Sid21 Posted August 3, 2007 Author Report Posted August 3, 2007 Thanks for the reply, I've got a backup booking as I see this recommended a lot in the forumn, its at the Millenium Hilton and I got a rate of $616 for the two nights. My wife would rather stay in/around Times Sq though as were only arriving late on Fri night and leaving on the sunday morning so want to maximise our time in the "touristy" area. I was hoping that the 3 star I described was the crowne plaza as thats on the doorstep of Times Sq.I know the transport links are good throughout NY but just trying to keep the mrs happy :) as its her 50th birthday.ThanksSid
thereuare Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 The Hilton New York will have you "plenty close" to the touristy areas (it's essentially in the heart of Rock Center), is higher rated, and less than the lower rated hotel above. Not sure if you're back-up is "all-in" including taxes, but if location is important for this trip Hilton New YorkTHIS HILTON would be a much better choice then the Millennium Hilton. Also, if you haven't seen it, be sure to read the thread we created for those who "Want A Hotel in Times Square".With all the above noted, i don't think the HOTWIRE property above is the Crowne Plaza.Let us know what you decide to do or if we can be of further help.
