Pluto Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 My first post here, discovered your wonderful site, use all the helpful advice here to successfully bid on priceline.Use the admin's strategy (posted just a few days ago to help someone else) to bid on USW, USE/Embarcadero, or Fisherman's Wharf. Your advice on rebidding zones was critical, and the step by step strategy was life-saving. Just want to share my bid as a thank-you to you.Bidding history was according to your strategy, 4* starting with $75 for USE with 3 rebidding up to $100.Then moved on to USW and Fisherman's Wharf individually (all up to $100).All was rejected. Then I screwed up (rookie mistake I guess). Selected 4* USE and USW, and $112 (when I meant to put in $102).Priceline bought me Mark Hopkins Intercontinental. My advice to all newbies is to WRITE DOWN your strategy and FOLLOW IT strictly. This thing requires a lot of discipline. But the whole bidding process was very exciting. I guess it's still a good deal considering the hotel webpage and Orbitz are all offering $199. That's 56% off supposedly.Questions: Do the more experienced people here think this is a good price for this hotel (if I've been more patient and careful)? And has anyone had good experience with this hotel? (no review of this hotel on this site). This will be our first time in San Francisco. Looking forward to it. Thanks all.
