moosirin Posted March 29, 2004 Report Share Posted March 29, 2004 First try using priceline!I read the forum and got some good advice and ideas on what prices to bid.I tried $31 for a 3* hotel in RTP near raleigh-durham in NC, and it failed.I rebid with $30 for 2.5* hotels, and won at Wellesley Inns And Suites Durham Research Triangle ParkFor a friday/sat night this coming weekend april 2004Your Offer Price: $30.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.29 Total Charges: $74.29 Of course I wonder... could I have bid lower...?? (and the savings that are available thru Priceline!)Can't say for certain if you would have been able to get this cheaper, but with the hotel's website showing $79/nite for your dates i think you did just fine! If you'd ever like a recommended bidding strategy to follow before you bid just ask and we'll be happy to help. Not sure if you didn't want to spend much more than this, but if you preferred to pay more for a higher rated hotel you did have RE-BID options available which eseentially would have let you immediately bid higher for a 3* hotel.
