Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help 4/1 and 4/2

I have the Venetian for 3/31. I have been bidding for the 4/1 and 4/2 stay as well. On Friday, I bid the 4/1 stay but was rejected. I can bid again Tuesday and would like to do the following:

My max bid is $115 per night.

I would like to try to get the Venetian on 4/1 for this amount (I guess this is unlikely from the prices on other websites).

If I get it for 4/1, I would like to try for 4/2 as well. If I get it for 4/1 and not 4/2, I would like to bid a 4* for 4/2.

If I do not get it for 4/1, then I would like to bid a 4* for both 4/1 and 4/2.

Since I only have one time to bid and would like to bid the Venetian first, is there a bidding strategy that will allow me to cover the above?

Rates are thru the roof for 4/1-4/3... do you have a back-up reservation? :)

How high are you willing to go for the 4*? Given the odds appear so slim for the Venetian i might consider giving hope on that now so that you have 2 chances to bid at the 4* level.

Let me know about the back-up reservation and your maximum bid for 4/1-4/3 and i'll advise further.

I have the Stardust booked for $38 (4/1) and $95 (4/2). I will take opinions from members of this board on how much upgrading from the Stardust to a 4* is worth on a Vegas trip. My max is $115.

I'll keep my eyes open and try some searches a bit later, but i really don't think you're going to do better than that for these dates.

The Stardust is now sold-out as are many other Las Vegas properties.

This is a good example of why it's important to book a cancellable back-up while waiting for Priceline-Hotwire to come thru... especially in Vegas.

If you want to try it anyway...

Bid dates 4/1-4/3

5* Las Vegas Strip

(i think you know a strategy by now but if not post back)

Bid date 4/1

5* Las Vegas Strip

(if successful bid for 4/2, otherwise continue on)

Bid 4/1-4/3

4* Las Vegas strip has 4 re-bid zones

If you're willing to go up to $115 I would bid $80, $90, $100, $110, $115

If you're willing to go up to $100 I would bid $75, $85, $90, $95, $100

Or some similar variation up to your maximim bid (i can't say what your max bid should be as it's based upon your budget and desire to be more 'mid-strip')

I'm not too optimistic (don't worry, you'll have better luck in Vegas where it counts! :) ) but let us know how it goes.

From the looks of rates for your dates your very lucky to have the Stardust booked. It looks like you could get the nugget **** downtown for $100 or less for 4/1 but I dont think your going to get anything on the strip of any quality and if you do it will be after your deadline to cancel your back-up.Good luck

If I change my bid from just 4/1 through 4/2 (1 night) to 4/1 through 4/3 (2 nights), does priceline give me another bid opportunity or must this be done outside the 72 hour bid time.

Bid on the 4* as suggested but did not win. However, the thrill of watching priceline search is similar to a slot machine and has my juices flowing for Sin City. I know I'll have better luck when I get there. Thanks for your help in getting me the Venetian on 3/31.
