So my changes to get a room in a 3* hotel for under 300$ are very low?

Concerning my stay on Kauai I decided to stay in a condo and booked it directly from the owner but maybe I will try my luck for a 3 nights stay an Maui with priceline.

I`m not sure yet how much I`m willing to pay but we have to stay somewhere :) All I know is that I don`t want to stay in a hostel but maybe it comes up to that. I even tried priceline for a second time and went up to 220$ for a 2 star hotel but had no luck.

I just won the Excelsior hotel (2.5*) for 240 US$. After reading some reviews I think its a quite good deal for a New York Hotel at this time.

I started my bid with 220 US$ for a 3*hotel, all areas, but had no luck.

Next bid was 240 US$ 2.5*.

Thanks for the post and for helping us add this property to the Priceline New York City Hotel List.

This is certainly much better than the nearly $400/nite on the hotel's website, but be sure to read this as a tip before any future bidding: If You Lower Your Star Quality Then Lower Your Price as it could save you money on your future bidding.

Enjoy your stay.
