Jerry D Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 I am looking for a hotel for September 2 thru September 8th. My wife and I will be on vacation for our first trip to the big city. I would prefer a 4*, but would readily consider a 2.5 or 3 * if there is a good price break. I am trying to obtain the room for under $150 per night. I am willing to stay in any zone, except the downtown zone. I would be willing to split the stay if that would help. Please give me your recommendations or strategy for bidding. Please give me your thoughts on the effect of labor day and the US open on these dates.

We'll suggest a strategy to give it a try, but if that first round of 4* bidding is rejected, what do you prefer to be the next step... try for the complete stay at a lower star rating or to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID i hopes of getting a 4* for at least part of your stay? thereuare Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 I would try splitting the bid... if this was August you'd have a better chance for a full week, but not so much in September when demand begins to get a bit stronger in NYC.You can repeat the previous strategy for each of the following date combinations:9/2-9/8 (try again if it's been 24 hours since your last rejected bid, if not, just skip this date)9/3-9/89/2-9/79/4-9/89/2-9/69/5-9/89/2-9/5No need to wait 24 yours between bids since you're changing the dates.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and keep us updated.
