flygirl Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 I've never stayed in a hotel in Manhattan, so I'm a little nervous about using hotwire, but willing to look into it!I'm looking at August 23-26...This hotel is a 4* boutique hotel in Midtown South, 3.5 star TripAdvisor rating, for $246/night (has gone up in the past 2 hours)Amenities include boutique, complimentary breakfast, restaurant, high-speed internet, and business centerMy guess would be the Morgans hotel, but I'm not sure how reliable my identification method was...Any ideas?
thereuare Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 This is a match for the Morgans so that would be our best guess... please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases. However, if you're looking to spend this type of money on a hotel room i'd sooner book the Affinia Dumont thru GTA Hotels for $235/nite as it's one of the most highly ranked hotels in NYC.Let us know your thoughts or if we can be of further help (and please use the link above if you do book). Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
flygirl Posted July 9, 2007 Author Report Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks for the tip! I'll look at the location of the Affinia Dumont...We want to stay within walking distance of the Javitz convention center, so we're a bit limited by location. Can I book with GTA Hotels through the betterbidding website?
thereuare Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Yes, you can use this GTA Hotels link or the one found in our support page... but i wouldn't consider this within walking distance of the Javitz. Not a lot of hotels are... and teh Javitz Center is not an area i would look to stay in proximity of.I could certainly walk it, but on a hot summer day you wouldn't want to... the avenues get long once you hit the double digits of the west side (10 Ave and up) and it would be a long walk. However, the hotel is on 34th Street and you could therefore take the bus (M34) directly to/from the Javitz Center as it runs from East/West along 34th Street to the Javitz Center. If proximity is more important than anything else, you can also get the Affinia Manhattan thru GTA Hotels for $234/nite, and it still gets excellent reviews... but the Dumont is a 'step above'.
