Dordax Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 This was the first time I used priceline hotels. I started with a bid of $65 in different areas for a 3* hotel. I worked my way up to my max of $100 down to a 2.5*. I ended up with the Holiday Inn which is 3*. I am flying into Laguardia so I guess the location is good. I am not sure if I could have done better for the price or could have gotten a lower price in a different area. I will be in NYC for a week sightseeing. The reviews I have read seemed okay, though there were a few unpleasant ones. Since this is my first time, I am having doubts about the outcome, even though I found this site to be very helpful and useful. Am I wrong for feeling this way? Can anyone tell me anything else I should know about this hotel, the area, or New York in general. :)
thereuare Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding and thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board.I found this site to be very helpful and useful.I'm not sure what you were expecting, but i think you would have found this site more useful (and likely have felt more comfortable with your purchase) if you had asked for help before you began your bidding. :)Enjoy your stay. Dordax Posted July 8, 2007 Author Report Posted July 8, 2007 I followed alot of the advice I read, but I agree I wished I had asked for help. I tried to post before but I did not figure out until this morning that I needed to activate he account through the emailed link first which I read this morning in order to post. Do you think that $100 for the Holiday Inn Laguardia is a great value or overpriced? :) I did used the SavingsBarn.com link to get to Priceline.
thereuare Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 It's a good deal in the sense that it's considerably cheaper than booking this property direct... but this area is not where i would want to stay for a week in order to sightsee around Manhattan.
