I was using info from previous posters. This area is not listed on the Priceline Hotel listing on betterbidding. Thanks for any help.
thereuare Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!I do think your alternate dates have a better chance at success than your current dates. If you use our BetterChecker you'll see that all the 4* hotels in this zone are sold-out. At least some have availability for your other dates. We really encourage you to learn how to check your re-bid zones on your own by reading Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and asking questions. We can tell you "yes" that the University area currently is a re-bid zone, but what is new hotel is added tomorrow just hours before your bid? We encourage all users to check their re-bid zones just before bidding. Please read the above link and ask any questions that you may have... if you're confused after reading it and just post back and we'll break it down step-by-step.You do have plenty of re-bid opportunities... what is your maximum bid for this stay? kjab Posted July 7, 2007 Author Report Posted July 7, 2007 Hi Theruare/others,I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately more questions. My initial hesitation about using other rebid zones was the discrepancies (of the names) between the list of areas on Betterbidding and Priceline. Not understanding the geography of Baltimore, I felt it was better using recent forum posters strategy for a 4*. I have listed areas at the end of this post.I have looked at the Betterchecker. What is the most efficient way to use this for the purpose you mentioned (room availability). Did you go to each hotel chain listed on Betterbidding that had a 4* in Baltimore or did you just select EasyClickTravel?I would not want to bid more than $115 for this stay. Do you think this is too low?BetterbiddingBetterbidding List of areas*Baltimore (Inner Harbor - Downtown)*Baltimore (Airport Baltimore - Washington BWI)Baltimore North - White MarshCarlyle - Cross KeysColumbia - JessupHanover - Fort MeadeHunt Valley - TimoniumTowsonPriceline List of areas*Inner Harbor Area - Downtown*Baltimore - Washington Airport (BWI)Baltimore StadiumsBaltimore WestGlen BurnieMt VernonOwings MillsUniversity Area
thereuare Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 My initial hesitation about using other rebid zones was the discrepancies (of the names) between the list of areas on Betterbidding and PricelineSometimes Priceline changes the names of zone (and sometimes the boundaries too)... we'll have to have a look and see if these are just name changes or boundaries as well, and we'll update the hotel list accordingly. However, as per Priceline Re-Bidding Explained (as well a the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List) you should not use the hotel lists to determine your re-bid zones.I have looked at the Betterchecker. What is the most efficient way to use this for the purpose you mentioned (room availability). Did you go to each hotel chain listed on Betterbidding that had a 4* in Baltimore or did you just select EasyClickTravel?Yes, checking the availability of the 4* hotels at each hotel's website. The BetterChecker enables you to input your information (city and dates) once and then also not need to individually type in the web address of each hotel's website.
