Priceline Hotel: Las Vegas July 22-26

Hello,

I hope I'm doing this correctly.

I want two rooms in Vegas. Check in July 22. Check out July 26. Two people per room. Maximum budget is $100 per night. That's what I used to pay @ the Hyatt in Henderson before it was taken over by Loews.

I'd be happy to get a room in Henderson @ a Hyatt level hotel. But the Strip is OK if the hotel is 4*.

This does not need to be a priceline deal.

Any advice? Thank you.

Both NEW YORK NEW YORK and Treasure Island can be booked for $99/nite.

If you're willing to stay at the end of the strip, Luxor is a 4* and can be had for $85/nite. Of lower quality, but what may be the best value of the bunch, is the Excalibur for just $51/nite!

Thanks. Nothing like actually shopping to help you really understand what you're looking for. NY as a backup would work..but I'd say last resort. After using some of your tools and shopping around, I think I'd be willing to pay an extra $20 for the mirage or mandalay bay.

Also, I clicked on an adsense ad here and found a site that looks like their prices are good. But I have no idea if they are reputable. Have you heard of them:

The MGM Mirage properties have pricing parity, so you shouldn't find a cheaper, publicly available rate, for any of their properties. I looked at the site you previously mentioned and i am not familiar with them, but see that the price of the Mirage is exactly the same ($129/nite) as booking thru the Mirage's hotel website.

However, as the Mirage website doesn't charge any booking fees, making the reservation direct saves you nearly $30 per room for the length of this stay.

Also not sure if the Westin (slightly off strip) would be good for your needs, but if so that can be booked HERE for just $85/nite.

We've finally decided that we'd go with the Hyatt in Henderson. The AAA price is $136. Any chance to get better than that at the Hyatt? Does Priceline even do hyatt now that they're Loews? You have an old thread on it...

The Loews has already been reported thru HOTWIRE, but not priceline, although i suspect that if they're participating with HOTWIRE then they'd also be participating with Priceline.

We did a priceline for Loews in Vegas and now they are charging a $15 per day resort fee. Is that allowed?

Depending on the city and property you stay in, you may also be charged resort fees or other incidental fees, such as parking charges. These charges, if applicable, will be payable by you to the hotel directly at checkout. When you check in, a credit card or, in the hotel's discretion, a debit card will be required to secure these charges and any incidental fees (phone calls, room service, movie rentals, etc.) that you may incur during your stay.

unfortunately, these resort fees are a nuisance and many resort hotels have begun to assess this fee. Some folks dispute the charges and have them removed. Its a way for a hotel to increase revenue without a raising room rates and I think its totally wrong. Some hotels have an energy surcharge fee. Where does it stop?

What happened was that after all my research, another member of our party did the priceline before asking me...He wanted to pay the trip... He just didn't know anything about better bidding.

I'm really sorry about that, as I wanted to go through your link. I don't have the details of what he paid but when I'm back home I'll get the info and post it.

BTW, they waived the resort fee charge...

P.S. I know and appreciate all the hard work you do for this site. I'll try to make it up to you and use your link on my next priceline flight... I fly every few months with priceline, so it won't be a problem.

In an ideal world we would like every thread to have a conclusion, so even if you post in the original thread "another member of our group book the trip before i had a chance to bid", that would at least give a conclusion to the thread and not leave future users wondering what you ultimately did for the stay, or if you tried and failed, cancelled the trip, or did have success but just didn't post the outcome.

I've merged the two threads so that others now know what ultimatley happened... if you do find out the winning bid info please add it to this thread and we'll edit the topic title accordingly to reflect the details of this stay.

$952.84 for 4 nights and we got a room on 9th floor.
