nina
I'm beginning to wonder what's up with Priceline in San juan. I'm an avid Priceline user and have never, ever had to bid so high over the average prices I see others getting for resorts in San Juan.My last bid today (started bidding 2 months ago) was $105 resort, $90 3 star, and I got rejected.I hesitate to bid higher on the resort, especially since a few weeks ago the Caribe Hilton was offering rooms for $110! OK, my bad, I got greedy and didn't book, thinking I could get a resort for less than $90 but now I find out, no dice. We don't get in until 9:00 pm so I really don't want to pay a lot just to sleep. Is anyone else having as hard a time as I am? I booked the Park Plaza Normandie for $125 as a back-up, but I'm kicking myself that I didn't grab the Caribe Hilton for $110.Can anyone offer any suggestions? I need 2 rooms for a one night stay pre-cruise. Link to comment
thereuare
This is the cusp of high/low season so week-to-week can go either way.During high season the bids your placed would be considered too low... during high season the bids would be considered too high.Since you have a back-up i would just continue to wait it out, as Puerto Rico is notorious for often not releasing inventory until 2-3 weeks (or more) before arrival. nina
Normally I would agree with you, but I've seen that people won bids of $75 for a resort for the same weeks that I'm bidding, and I've already gone way beyond that rate even for a 3 star. Do you think it's because I want a Saturday night? Link to comment
