gthack Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 A late posting, but...I had agrad-school interview on the morning or the 3rd in Philly and used PL to book based on info on these forums. The Tut exhibit was in town, so I took my wife and son (4yrs old) via Amtrak from DC and made a weekend getaway out of it. IIRC, I saw the $46/nt post and shot for that, escalating with rebids by $2 per until I landed this hotel at $60.(from my PL profile:)Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $25.26 Total Charges*: $145.26 The hotel was fantastic, central to everything and easy to reach via public transit (my son got to see his first foot-long rat in the subway station). The staff was very accomodating and gave us a 2 dbl bed room with no questions asked. The hotel is gorgeous and the restaurant was good, if a little overpriced - we ate breakfast there both days. The indoor pool and exercise facilities were very nice. It seems that the weather was somewhat chilly on Saturday afternoon and my wife told me they were giving out hot chocolate in the lobby when she came back from sightseeing, a nice touch.I recommend this hotel highly, especially if you can get it at a rate this low (or even better yet at the earlier posted $6!)
