Priceline Hotel: Wanted - 4* London (Marble Arch/Bloomsbury or Mayfair/Soho)

Booking a room for my sister and her boyfriend for the weekend of July 14-16.

So far have failed at $80, $82, $85 and $89. Was hoping to get the Thistle Marble Arch for around $85 as others on here have - no luck so far.

Want to hopefully come in at under $100 a night to allow for PL fees and taxes to total around

When was the time of your last failed bids?

If in the last 48 hours, there's not much else you can do other than increase towards your maximum.

For your next four bids i'd just continue with $92, $95, $98, $100.

Have since failed at $98, $100, $102 and $105 :)

Ideally they want to be as central as possible without having to use the tube (claustrophobia). Will try up to $110 and then convince them to try a bit further out.

Checking inventory in HOTWIRE as a clue to what might be at Priceline, rates seem high in the central zones and even outside. $110 may not do it.

Failed up to $120, even after adding Westminster and Regents Park/Baker St.

Ended up booking a secret hotel on www.lastminute.com - got the 4* Holiday Inn Regents Park for

it seems hotel prices have really gone up in London! I spent a week bidding ever day for Mayfair /Marble Arch London at to $200 and no counter or accepted offers - good luck! I ended up travelling to Manchester - but I think Wimbleton was the thing that was driving prices up for that week ...
