thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! The best time to start bidding is when you know your plans are firm and won't change. Since Priceline/Hotwire reservations can't be changed, cancelled, or modified, many people don't bid them until a month or two before their trip. However, in periods of peak demand it definately pays to start early. For example, this PRICELINE WINNING BID is for New Years Eve 2005 and i can be almost certain a rate such as this won't be available as the date draws closer (hotels typicaly charge $300-$400+ for New Years Eve in NYC).Additionally some zones are known to only make inventory available far in advance, while many others are known to release inventory close to check-in... but you should have no problem bidding now for NYC if you choose to do so.Look in the HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST (beyond the first post) and you will see that the Hotwire hotel you describe matches the W New York and that is the most likely identification of this hotel. If you decide to go for this property let us know how it goes or if you decide to try Priceline and need a bidding strategy feel free to ask for help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
