After several attempts last month I had given up on this bid (had gone as high as 175). Today I bid 135 and received a counter offer of 153 (this was my first ever counter offer--what a good feeling). Then I used my free rebidding zone to bid directly in the middle at $144, and wound up with the best possible outcome--I thought for sure I'd get the dreaded Meridian Palace (was running around 220 per night), but instead got the Marriott, which is currently $323 on priceline.
