Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millennium-Loop-Grant Park) Hyatt Regency

Dates/Price: Aug. 24 - 26/ price offered on hotwire = $149

Ammenities: Fitness Center, Business Center, Spa Services, Restaurants, High-Speed Internet Access

Does anyone have a guess what hotel this is? I'd like to find out the location.

Also, hotwire lists room as $169 "retail" with a 12% discount makes it $149. The retail price sounds low, do you think this a really small room at a 4* hotel?

It looks like a match for the Hyatt. Do not go on the "retail price", as that is not necessarily the retail price for the hotel you're getting, but a price for a "comparible" hotel in the area.

Personally, I'd much rather take the chances on the 4* in the North Michigan Ave/Water Tower/Gold Coast area showing on your dates for $113, with amenities fitness, business, restaurant and internet (it's a customer favorite, as well). That could be either the Westin, Drake or Ambassador East (or possibly a different hotel, but it looks like it could possibly be one of those 3), all three hotels I'd rather pay $113 for than the Hyatt for $149, to be honest.

The Hyatt is fine when it's $50-60 via Priceline during the "off-season", but once it's starts passing $100, I think it's not worth it.

You could probably do better via Priceline, as well, if you are interested in trying to bid.

Rates are $200 a night for these dates, so you did get a very good discount at a little over half off. The Hyatt is not my favorite hotel (it's just that it's a huge, impersonal convention hotel - it's the biggest downtown hotel), but it is very well located downtown.
