It is our first trip, it sounds like MTW is what we want as we are there for the theatre, nightlife and sight seeing. I would like one of the 4* in this zone, but regarding maximum bid, I am not sure. What is a reasonable low and maximum for this category at this time of year in your opinion?

I would recommend being 'open' to more zones than just MTW. You'll have more bidding opportunities, chances, potential hotels, etc. As i said in the above link, NYC is one area where i don't location is so important because there is always transportation nearby and it's not too expensive.

You'll also need to know and understand re-bidding, which is explained here: PRICELINE TIPS - Bidding Again Before 72 Hours. Feel free to confirm your re-bid zone with us if you have any questions (you have one when bidding 4* in this area).

With that said, if you only want the MTW area i would:

Select 4* MTW and...

Bid $88 if rejected add rebid zone and

Bid $95

If you are also willing to accept the UM/CPS zone i would:

Select 4* MTW and...

Bid $88 if rejected add UM/CPS and

Bid $95 if rejcted add re-bid zonea and

Bid $100

If the above is not successful report back and we'll suggest another strategy to use in 72 hours which will go up to $120.

Feel free to ask any questions that you may have regarding the above.
