NewYorkNina
I want to take a quick weekend to go to Adams Historical park in Quincy and the Freedom Trail. We will arrive late Friday night and have to leave to go back to NY mid morning Sun. Where do you suggest I stay, and what should I bid (any chance i can get something for under $100?)thanks! thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! You should first look at the HOTWIRE and priceline zones for Boston to determine where you would like to stay relative to the activities that you have planned. Then let us know your minimum star level and maximum budget and we'll be in a better position to advise. NewYorkNina
I want to stay either in Downtown (Charleston) or in Quincy/Braintree......would love to be close to the Freedom Trail in Downtown or Adams Historical Park in Quincy, but I know I can't request specific hotels. Would like to spend as little as possible (under $80/night??). What's my best strategy for next weekend???? What are the most probably hotels they would give me. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
NewYorkNina
two stars would be minimum Link to comment
thereuare
Did you want to try a higher star rating first up to your maximum budget or are you trying to do this 'on the cheap' and least expensive 2* or better hotel is what you're seeking (most recommend sticking to the higher star rated hotels whenever possible)Also, you are aware that the Downtown and Braintree are in entirely different Priceline regions? (ie- one is in 'Boston' while the other is in 'Boston Metro-South') Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
NewYorkNina
Thanks. I wasn't actually aware that those were different regions of Priceline. I assume the area outside of Boston would be less expensive than Boston itself, right? I am looking for a less expensive hotel--2-3 star.... Link to comment
thereuare
I assume the area outside of Boston would be less expensive than Boston itself, right? Not always the case, as a lot has to do with the number of hotels in a given area (ie- competition) as well as occupancy levels.I am looking for a less expensive hotel--2-3 star....Do you mean the least expensive 2* or better hotel? (just want ot make sure we have your preference correct) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
NewYorkNina
yes, least expensive.Looking again at the map, I would also consider Dedham area of suburbs. Guess I have a slight preference for downtown Boston, but least expensive of all of the above is the preference..... Link to comment
thereuare
You have no re-bid zones at the 2* level and your stay is fast approaching, i would bid as follows:Select 2* Dedham...Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 2* Braintree...Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 2* Dedham and Braintree...Bid $40, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 2* Downtown...Bid $40.Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
NewYorkNina
Due to some unexpected events, we will not be going to Boston this weekend...therefore, I never bid....however, I hope to schedule the trip in the near future, once some things are settled. Thanks for the strategies, and i will be sure to post when I'm ready to go again.
