Priceline Hotel: 4* Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle

Having trouble bidding for a 4* in Vancouver during the first week of July.

All my Priceline bids up to $135 have been declined and wondering how high I should go for a 4* for these dates? Or if I should wait? Hotwire rates are sitting at around $170 right now. Much higher than last year.

The first night I'm also trying to bid for 4 rooms. Does the number of rooms one bids for have any affect on the whole process?

From what I recall number of rooms shouldn't have an effect, I suppose if a hotel opened up less than 4 rooms for bidding that would be ruled out and they may of been trying to match you up to a more expensive hotel. As far as what to pay go through the list of hotels and check the retail prices for your dates off the hotels websites, decide how much you need to save to make it worth using priceline and bid accordingly. IE For me saving $10 isn't worth having a non-cancellable reservation, but its based on what you want. You can also try holding off for a bit as they may open up more inventory closer to the dates, depending how many rooms they can sell at rack rates.

Starting bid was $110. Raised bid adding zones two times and at $120 was offered to try again without any changes for an additional $22. Tried again later adding a third zone, making sure there were no 4 star properties in all additional zones, and my offer was accepted at $128. Looking forward to staying at this hotel after reading comments on TA.
