So after reading some reviews on the W i decided to look around first.

now I get

It seems a close match for the allegro, but not quite. Any ideas?

I liked my stay at the W. However, few people seem to. It's very much a "love it or hate it" place.

The hotel you mentioned above is likely the Allegro, which offers no real benefit in terms of location versus the W; both hotels are in the West Loop, which is fine during the day, but very quiet at night.

We stayed at the Burnham last time we were there and I really liked it, so I'm looking forward to another Klimpton hotel. I agree this probably isn't a substantially better option than the W, but it is quite a bit cheaper so I'm happy. (I do recall the burnham not being by much at night, either, but we did get to have jimmyjohn's before heading out to the airport).
