ldholzer Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I bid $36 a night for 2.5 stars on May 24th for a May 26-27 (two nights) stay. It was accepted on the forst try. Hotel Indigo in Palatine was the Hotel. The hotel's location is convenient, just off the exit ramp, which makes getting to other locations easy. This hotel has recently been redecorated, but it is still an older hotel with some signs of aging. The redecorating has resulted in a nice hotel for 2.5 stars. The decor is summery, and colorful. The lobby and eating areas were reiniscent of beach facilities. The room had two double beds, mirrors everywhere, furniture of a desk, TV/Wardrobe and nightstand, as well as a long table, all made with white painted wood. There are sinks, both inside the bathroom and outside. The shower has no tub. There is a glass wall of about 12" and then a standard shower curtain. This doesn't do a real good job of caontaining the water spray. There is a wooden teak bench in the shower that can be removed for space or used for seating for things like shaving legs, etc. There is a coffe maker, ironing board, and iron. There were also plenty of hangers supplied. The flooring in the room had been redone with wooden look flooring, along with a large area rug that spanned the space between the two beds. For this time of year, that was OK, but it may make for cold floors in the winter.Since we booked the room through Priceline, when we arrived, we could not get a King Bed because we were told the hotel was sold out and the room we had nbooked was a double bed room. This is the first time that we have had this problem. I recommend calling as soon as you get the reservation and asking for a King if that's what you want.Overall, the hotel was good, and I would recommend it for 2.5 starts.
LKHomemail Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 A second review of this hotel is that it's really run down. The luggage cart has a flat wheel. The shuttle driver takes off and has no back up for that day , it just does not run. When the shuttle does run, it is from 7 - 9 am and from 5 - 7 pm and that's it for the day. There are bikes available for guest use, I suppose these are offered because the shuttle doesn't run ? Not sure. There is ONE working washer /dryer and it does not work well. The other one is broken. Total of 2 units for entire hotel. The wireless access advertised , means wireless in the lobby only. There is cable access from the desk in the guestroom. The desk lamp and hairdryer do not work. The hotel door has a huge crack all the way across it on the diagonal and they have glued it together and painted it. If you want a mini fridge or a microwave they will bring one down to your room but the charge is 10 per unit per day. If you stayed 30 days at this hotel that would be 600 dollars for the use of a mini fridge/microwave. Seems a bit expensive to me. There is no guest microwave anywhere in a common area to share. I do not understand how this hotel got into the priceline Schaumburg bidding zone area as it's located in Palatine. Other Palatine hotels are in the other zone. I'm sure someone paid someone dearly at Priceline to change the bidding territory to get this lousy hotel included. This makes it difficult to bid in Schaumburg to avoid this hotel. It's classified as a 3 star in Schaumburg. I would give it a 1 at best. Most of the time I'm pretty generous. The only thing positive is that it's very cheap.
