ITSMEKT Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 I'm new too! Need help booking 4* hotel 1 night 6/2-6/3 (2 adults-2 kids) 1 room. I know priceline is based on double occupancy. What do I do?
thereuare Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!See the related 'bed type/occupancy' links in our PRICELINE FAQ.What is your budget? How old are your kids? ITSMEKT Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 Thanks for the response! The kids are 12 & 13 so I don't want them to have a seperate room. We'd love a 4* MTW or MTE but willing to go 3* and want to keep the cost under $200. (The lower the better!) What do you recommend? We are going to see a broadway show. Wicked or May Poppins (I think) Any words of wisdom on how to get a deal on tickets???? (Sorry I had to ask)
thereuare Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Can you risk getting a room with only one bid? (and possibly not room for a rollaway?)If not, then you shouldn't use priceline.HOTWIRE does allow you search for up to quad occupancy. Do you see any offers in your price range when searching for 2adults/2children on HOTWIRE? thereuare Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 The 3* is a match for the Hilton Garden Inn so that would be our best guess for that property. The 4* hotel has not yet been identified and the amenities are very common for a NYC hotel.Given the above stay is just one nite, and with the guess being the HGI, i would take the 3* and save the money... that $70+ can be better spent adding to the enjoyment of your family's experience in NYC.I might think differently if this was a multi-nite stay, but for one nite you can at least be assured sleeping accomodations for all of your and for a one nite stay probably won't be in the room too much anyway.Let us know whatever you decide and please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make. ITSMEKT Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 3* Hilton Garden Inn for around 70 & Im pretty sure I used the link- Sorry I don't remember all of the details
tenerifesharon Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Did you pay $70 or did you save $70? Did you bid on Priceline (possibly one bed) or accept a hotel from Hotwire (where you entered 2 adults and 2 children)? It would help lots of other people if you could give us some details. OH -- I just saw that this is very old. It really would help if you posted close to the winning date. Thanks.
