Dean Meyer Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 First time with Priceline. I tried 4 star at $41, but got rejected. I then followed the helpful hints posted and lowered the star level and price. Next bid was accepted $37 a night for four nights. I was kind of bummed since we had small kids and the Minneapolis Double Tree Park Place doesn't have a pool. Oh well, I'm sure we'll tire them out at the Mall of America. One question though, when I initally tried the 4 star I was rejected. I then submitted at $45. There was an error message that I needed to click a different option, and still gave the error message of the initial price rejection. Should I have cleared out and started over from scratch rather than lowering my star level? Thanks for a helpful message board,DM
thereuare Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Once a bid is rejected, Priceline requires that you:1) Add a zone2) Lower your star quality3) Change your dates4) Wait 72 hours before bidding againThey require the above so that people don't bid $1, $2, $3, etc. until they are accepted (it's to Pricelne's advantage if you over-bid)A strategy that can often be used to get around this is RE-Bidding(utilizing this strategy would have enabled you to continue bidding 4* in this situation)Feel free to ask for help or confirm you planned bidding strategy before bidding next time around... we're here to help :) Thanks for posting and enjoy your stay.
