blindman Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Thank you for posting the winning bid and using the SavingsBarn link.Glad we could help.Enjoy the stay.
thereuare Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Congratulatiosn on your win. This hotel is in the middle of a small 'outdoor mall' so there are some places to see/eat in the immediate area as well as a movie theater (not in very good shape, but first run movies). A very short car ride nearby is also a Walmart, a small indoor mall with supermarket, more restaurants, and another movie theater.A great rate for this area.Enjoy your stay. actraveler Posted May 30, 2007 Author Report Posted May 30, 2007 Hi guys,I am formerly from this area so I knew what I was getting in terms of location.According to the front desk---rock bottom bid for this hotel is $52, but they do not routinely give PL a lot of rooms. As this weekend was a holiday (Memorial Day), and they were empty as they mainly cater to business travelers, there were tons of PL rooms.Unfortunately, there were large groups of 13-15 year olds on school trips from Quebec and Mass. in the hotel so sleeping was difficult due to the noise and the elevator had all the buttons lit on 3 occasions---kids. In addiditon, the free internet was worth what I paid for it as the link to their server was down all weekend, and the manager who knew how to reset it wasn't working and was unavailable for a non-emergency by phone. The place was great for location, but as is my experience with most regular Holiday Inns, this place, overall, was a dump- especially when compared to the other PL hotels in this area.I was in town for a funeral and to break bread with relatives so the hotel did fine, but at regular rates, I would have changed places. Official review to follow.Regards,Hal
