Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Toronto (Airport YYZ) Courtyard Airport West

My son has a hockey tournament this weekend near that airport, and I am trying to figure out which hotel this would be. The 'laundry' option is throwing me off.

4* (Lester B Pearson Airport, Toronto, On)

Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Business Center, High Speed Net, Fitness, Laundry (7 in total)

$74/night savings 34.41

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How do you bid on a specific hotel? Our team is staying at the Holiday Inn Select. 970 Dixon Rd.

You can't bid on a specific named hotel in Hotwire.

It's usually a good indicator if you build a package for your dates and then see what hotels are available.

Whilst not a guarantee if there's one that matches exactly the 'opaque' side of Hotwire then it could be that one.

Bit hard to do that now as you're on the day of departure.

I'm no expert, so what do you think?

I tried to do that, and think that the 4* could be the Westin Brystol, as it seems only that hotel has laundry services

- I also tried a bid on Priceline for 3* hotels, I put $45, and that was rejected - apparantly I cannot try again.

What is your aim here?

To get the same hotel as the team?

Better chance with Hotwire.

To get a cheap hotel at the airport?

Better chance with PL

If you have only bid for One Zone at the 3* level then you have 2 FREE rebids.

If i could get the same hotel as the team that would be fantastic, however if I can pay much less (with tax etc they are paying 290 for two nights) I would stay elsewhere.

I tried to rebid and it said i had to change something (add a location or change the dates)

With PL as stated to bid again you must change something or add a zone.

As you can't change your dates or location you need to add a zone.

In order to be assured of not getting a hotel in a zone you don't want you need to add a zone (in your case)

that has as its highest star rating 2*

There are TWO for Toronto.

Have a look at PL and report back with what you think they are.

I see Scarborough/Pickering, but that is it. But do believe I read in another post Brampton?

Mind you I certainly dont want to stay in Pickering! as that is 30 minutes away.

I'm not trying to be awkward but you've only got ONE.

Brampton is NOT a free rebid it has a 3* option.

You need to be looking at the PL web-site and NOT the PL hotel list on this board

Hopefully you read the Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread and understand what it's all about.

As time is short I would advise the following:

Seeing that HOTWIRE has a 3* at $69 that is likely to be the Holiday Inn then hopefully PL will have a 3* at a lower price.

Historically PL wins at 3* at the airport are $45-60 so your maximum bid could be $60.

If no luck then buy the hotwire option?

How to bid

As you've bid already at $45 for a 3* at the Airport then

Open PL (through Savingsbarn.com if you want to help the board)

Select 3* at two zones Airport + Toronto East

Choose your dates and start the bid at $50

If that fails then close the browser, access PL again and

Select 3* at two zones The Airport and Scarborough bid at $55

If no sucess then close the browser, access PL again and

Select 3* at three zone Airport + Toronto East + Scarborough

Bid $60

Report back.

3* Holiday Inn Airport East

Amenities: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business

Though the Hotwire website also has Internet. :)

So I could be wrong

At the end of the day, does it matter?

With either HOTWIRE or PL all you're guaranteeing is a cheaper place to stay for this weekend.

You are right.. I took a quick look around at some previous winner and gave the 2.5* a go.
