Priceline Hotel: 5* Sydney Harbour Marriott, $125, 3/23-25/04

I started out at $78 for a 5* and had worked my way to $102 for a 4*, which got rejected. Finally I changed my dates (checking out 3/25 instead of 3/27 as originally planned) and my first bid was accepted at $125. If I'd been more patient and started my new bidding lower I might have gotten a better price, but I'm okay with this.

Interestingly, the rates for all the time periods (23-25, 25-27, and 23-27) show the same rate. It's quite possible that Priceline doesn't have access to inventory, but it's also possible that this hotel may not offer stays of 4 nites or more (it's not likely this is the case, but it's certainly possible). If you still need the last 2 nites, i would try placing similar bids for just those nites... maybe you'll get lucky.

Thanks--I didn't try $125 for all 4 nites as that was outside my emotional price range! I decided instead to use the last of my Starwood points for the 25-27, so I'll have to switch hotels but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I'll post a review of the Marriott when I return.
