andrew+betterbidding Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Have been bidding for several days, trying to get Fishermans Wharf (was still failing today at $85/night), but after a bit I also started bidding (lower amounts) on Union Square East / Embarcadero.Yesterday I bid $75/night for USE, Friday, 6/15 through Sunday 6/17, but no go. Priceline gave me a free re-bid if I added $22 to the bid - definitely more than I wanted to pay.Today, noticing someone else's post here (and having some time before my trip), I upped my USE bid a single dollar, to $76/night, and it was accepted.I stayed at the Omni hotel a few years ago, also via a Priceline bid; my memory is vague on the details, but I remember that I liked the hotel. I'm pretty sure that at the time it had free wired Internet, and I think wireless as well but not sure (and I usually prefer wired as it tends to be much faster). Their web site now claims that you get free wireless only if you're a member of their Select Guest program, otherwise it's ~$10/night. The program is free, so I joined, but I don't know if it will actually get me free Internet from a Priceline reservation - I'll find out. (The web site doesn't mention wired Internet; hopefully that's just because they aren't emphasizing it.)
