I tried priceline for the first time and found this board out of frustration

I bid 110 for 5/20 and 5/21 anywhere in manhattan and got shut out, then upped it to $120 and got shut out.

Is there any process that couls help me get a room at that price range??

Thanks in advance

Well what is your max bid? On HOTWIRE there is a 3.5* hotel for $134 atm (Midtown Central), which seems to be the closest to your price range. The hotel its self seems to be The Hudson You may want to check the reviews and see if it meets your expectations. Otherwise let us know your max bid and we can assess how realistic your chances are, is any midtown region acceptable?

I will be going through savingsbarn.com, but I am still unable to book a room anywherte in manhattan for 5/20 and 5/21. I tried rebidding up to $130 a night. Is it realistic to think I will get a 3* for that price range?

any asisstance greatly appreciated.

I really can't spend more than $130/night, and I need for 5/20, and 5/21

Any reccomendations will help.

I have been fiddeling with priceline for 3 days now and got nowhere.

The Hudson is on Hotwire not Priceline (although now it doesn't seem to be available), on Hotwire your listed with hotel amenities/location and price and the actual hotel is revealed after you complete your purchase. If you search on HOTWIRE for your dates you'll see in Times Sq Theater District (notice the checkboxes to the left to select which locations you want to see) a 3* for $142. From what we can tell its either the Paramount of the Crown Plaza, not great hotels but you can search them on Tripadvisor for more info. It's doubtful you'll find anything for $120/$130 unless you lucky and bid day of check-in or day before when some more rooms may come available. Also keep in mind New York has some steep hotel taxes, so if you get a room for $130 it will cost you more than that. If this is out of your price range, you'll have to say out of NYC more than likely, if you search around the board there is recomendations on other areas to stay that still provide decent access into Manhattan.
