AbbyCat4 Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Two separate bids for the rooms. The first room was won last Saturday. First bid of $110 was accepted. The second room was won this morning. I ended up needing an additional room, after more people decided to travel with us. I took a calculated risk that I would win the same hotel. I checked this forum, the Boston Forum of Trip Advisor, and one other site, and people were winning the Millenium Bostonian fairly consistently in the Downtown - Charlestown zone. I used three bids this morning, using advice from Better Bidding about adding re-bid zones.1. Bid $90, 4*, Downtown - Charlestown. Rejected.2. Bid $100, added Medford-Summerville zone (no 4* hotels). Rejected.3. Bid $110, added Brighton-Brookline zone (no 4* hotels). Accepted.I realize my risk could have blown up on me, as I could have ended up with a second room at a different hotel. But I got lucky and it worked out. This was my first Priceline bidding experience, and I will definitely try it again. The information on this forum was invaluable, particularly how to use "free rebids". Thanks for the advice. Great site!
