outlier Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Hello,I'm looking for a hotel for downtown Toronto from Wed, May 16 to Sun, May 20. I've bid 50, 55, 60 and got rejected each time. How much should I bid considering it is a long weekend in Canada? If it's better to split up the dates, how should I split it? Wed - Fri and Sat to Sun?Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Do you have a maximum bid in mind?If you'd rather first try SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, i think the 'trouble' day is the first nite of your stay, 5/16. I would first try bidding 5/17-5/20, if that is rejected i would then try 5/18-5/20.... and i think you can be successful at less than the $60 you have bid above. If you'd like a specific bidding strategy just ask.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. outlier Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 I split and bid on 5/17 - 5/20 and got 64/night at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville.I bid 64, 70, 75 on 5/16 and got rejected. I'll keep trying for that night. The link through savingsbarn.com was used to get to Priceline. Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Glad to hear you at least got part of the stay settled. Was $64 your first bid in the zone for the 3 nites? If not, do you recall the amount of your highest previously rejected bid? Please start a NEW TOPIC for the balance of your stay so that we can reflect the hotel received in the topic title of that thread as well (once a hotel is won). Thanks for using the PRICELINE links at SavingsBarn.comEnjoy your stay.
