mng Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Thanks for the strategies posted here. This was my first time using priceline, so I might not have made the most of the possibilities, but I'm thrilled with the results. I bid $90 for a 4* in Mayfair/Soho or Bloomsbury/Marble Arch for May 15-21/07. I wanted anything close to a tube stop and those areas seem to have the most tube stops. (I have since found out that certain tube lines are more frequent than others so next time I would factor that in).My offer was rejected and they gave me a counter offer of $145. Since the best deal I could find in my price range (based on Trip Advisor reviews) was a 2* in the City for $175, this seemed like a good deal to me. Not quite as stunning as some of the other deals on this board, but I am so happy we are in a better location, in a nicer hotel, for less money! We got the Cumberland hotel next to the Marble Arch tube stop. I am totally a Priceline convert. I would appreciate any comments on what I could have done better. Thanks!
