jwabbit Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 First bid (USE, 4*, $75) was accepted so I thought, maybe I overbid (i know, 75/night for holiday wkend is great!). USE, 4*, $55 = Rejected+Cathedral Hill, $60 = Rejected+Civic Center, $65 = Rejected+South SF, $70 = Rejected+Boutique, $75 = RejectedSo what happened to my previously accepted 4* at $75/night? Did I get too greedy? Does this show that $75 was the best it could have been so try the first bid again? Also, we need a 2nd room for only one night (Sat). I was thinking to call the accepted hotel for that same rate for one night. Worse case is to bid for one night and get a different hotel from our friends. =(Any thoughts?
jwabbit Posted May 13, 2007 Author Report Posted May 13, 2007 Apologies - the original post was not clear, i thought $75 for a 4* in USE was accepted but there was a 'glitch' and I did not win the hotel. That was when I rebid lower to see if I could get lower than $75, but I was unsuccessful.I have been bidding the last few days and won this today:May 26 - May 284*, USE, $75 = Rejected, Counter offer to add $22 to bid but I knew I had 3 more areas w/o 4* to rebid;+Civic Center, $80 = Rejected+Cathedral Hill, $85 = Accepted: Hyatt Regency San FranciscoI called Hyatt CS to check on bed type - 2 Double (we needed one bed, but we'll survive). I also asked if they will meet Priceline's rate for an additional room for just one night (May 26-27) and after checking around, the CSR said they do not meet Priceline's rate (they offered $169). Tried PL for one night and won the same rate/same hotel. That bidding was 4*, USE, $85 and was accepted. Confirmed as same hotel.thereuare - maybe you can edit this thread to include the confirmed winning bid (s)? I wasn't sure I should start a new thread. Please advise.
