Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (NMA-River North) Westin Michigan Ave

I am looking to find a 4* hotel in the NMA-River North area for the dates listed above. I am going to bid priceline and start at $100 and work my way up. What are the hotels that are most likely to come up for 4* in this area? I don't really want the Whitehall because I've heard some poor things about it. Do you think that bidding priceline is a big risk of getting the Whitehall?

All hotels reported to the boad would be found in Priceline Hotel List.

The Whitehall is not a hotel that has not yet been reported as a priceline participating hotel, and this area is bid frequently, so i would say the chances of landing the Whitehall would be fairly low (although, of course, new hotels can and are added at any time)

Do you have a maximum bid in mind? Is there a point in your bidding that you would take the Whitehall if it were $xx dollars cheaper than your next best deal? Is NMA the only zone you're willing to consider?

The Millennium Knickerbocker would be more of a likelyhood and worry (although I didn't think it was quite as bad as the worst reviews make it out to be) than the Whitehall, which has not been reported on Priceline (yet, as mentioned above it can possibly show up at any time) and has rarely been showing on HOTWIRE lately.

The Wyndham, Westin (Michigan Ave location, rarely the River North) and the Sheraton are other hotels that come up fairly often. As mentioned, the complete list of reported hotels is available on the site at the link.

I bid the following for 6/29/07 through 7/1/07:

4* NMA-River North - $100.....failed

3* NMA-River North - $100.....failed

4* NMA-River North + Midway - $120......accepted

I know I could have probably got this slightly cheaper if I would have increased bids gradually, especially on 3*, but I wanted to just get a room booked so I didn't have to worry about it. Thanks.
