pterrell
Hotwire listing now includes High-speed Internet Access. This may be my last Hotwire transaction. Or at least when I'm trying to stay in the 2 star range. :) A change in plans required a stay in Jackson. I was hoping that this the Courtyard, which wasn't being picked up on Priceline with a top bid of $55. But no go...The rate is $45 with AAA and several signs on the freeway and outside the motel also give this rate. I've filed a low-rate guarantee request and waiting for the result. This experience piggy-backs my Hotwire car rental for the trip. I could have saved $10 if I used my AAA discount to rent direclty from Hertz. (I gave myself a dope slap when I got the results after my Hotwire payment. I had checked Budget with my Costco discount and found it was $50 higher then the Hotwire price, so I went Hotwire.) And when the trip was delayed by 40 hours, I was so afraid that Hertz would not honor the pre-payment. Luckily, they did. And credited for the "lost day" by extending the reservation to my new pickup time. Link to comment
