sunni Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 What a fantastic site!We wanted to stay in a downtown hotel with a spa on June 8-10. There are no great deals to be had at that time it seems. The best deal I could find was for a *4 hotel in Mag Mile/Streeterville was $279 a night. The amenities areFitnessBusinessRestaurantHighSpeed InternetSpaand it's listed as a Best Value being 10% off the rack rate.I'm suspecting Hyatt Regency or the W. We're going to Navy Pier so I would love it to be W. But the rack rate for W is a whole lot more than $300. Do you think it might be either of those? Thanks!!!
thereuare Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Best guess on the above would be the Hyatt Regency... however, i think i have a better (and cheaper) option for you :)You can book the Marriott Downtown for $225/nite (leaves some money left over for your massages and such :) ). It is close to the Navy Pier and they do have a spa on-site, but you can call them to confirm any particular services you're looking for. However, when in a big city, i'd sooner recommend locating a place nearby which specializes in the services you're looking for. Take the address of the Marriott (or whatever hotel you choose) and enter it in our sister site, Spa Gift Cards to find the location of a spa near the hotel. If you do go with the hotwire offer please use our HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.If you go with the Marriott Downtown please use the links in this thread to begin your purchase.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. sunni Posted May 4, 2007 Author Report Posted May 4, 2007 Thanks, Hyatt Regency is what I suspected, and I've seen many reports that it deserves less than a *4 rating. Thanks for your suggestion. The Marriott is very nice, but this is our first weekend away from the kids in 7 years and I was hoping to stay at a UN-child-friendly hotel, lol! Something with a "cool factor" I think. I'll keep looking, but I'm so afraid of having to pay the rack rate at those kind of places.
thereuare Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I'd look at EasyClickTravel's other offerings as well as Quickbook (which has the Swissotel for $299/nite if that interests you) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 Thanks, Hyatt Regency is what I suspected, and I've seen many reports that it deserves less than a *4 rating. The Hyatt is simply a huge, impersonal convention hotel. It's not bad for discount rates when it can be had for $50-125 or so, but I'd never recommend paying more than that unless it was the only choice.June 8-10 is tough due to the Blues Fest. The Marriott doesn't have much cool factor, but it's a nice hotel in a great location.
AaronJB Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 The Swiss is $259 via their website (there's a lot of rates listed, you have to look for it.)However, for $299, they also have a good package deal for the Shedd Aquarium. You get upgraded lakeview room (usually about another $50 versus a regular room), breakfast and 2 tickets to the Shedd Aquarium (which are otherwise $23 per person)
