warzbiz Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Trying to help a friend book a room at the 5* Venetian for 1 night, Sunday 8/22. The Venetian's website is showing $219. Hotwire is showing $129. Seems like I should be able to get the room for $99.I used the SavingsBarn link to PRICELINE and rolled the dice. I followed the bidding progression that didn't include resorts. Here's how it went:I selected 5* Strip for Check-in on Sunday 8/22 and Check-out on Monday 8/23:Bid $90, was rejected and received a counter-offer of $130 which I turned down. I added a re-bid zone and...Bid $95, rejected -- added a re-bid zoneBid $100, rejected -- added a re-bid zoneBid $105, rejected -- added a re-bid zoneBid $110, rejected -- added a re-bid zoneBid $115, rejected.Do I need to close the browser and reaccess Priceline after two (consecutive) failed bid attempts? I recently noticed that advice in another bidding strategy.
thereuare Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Hotwire is showing $129. Seems like I should be able to get the room for $99.We haven't see the $99 rate in a looong time, it usually now takes at least $120.As long as you have re-bid zones left then there is no need to close the browser after two consecutive failed bidding attempts. Thanks for starting your bids with the PRICELINE links at SavingsBarn.comKeep us updated as to how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
