slruud Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 As always, I look to take care of details far in advance. After bidding on Priceline yesterday for 4* to the mid 80s with no success, I checked Hotwire and they had no 3.5* or 4* offerings. Early this AM I checked Hotwire and they had a 3.5 which matched the Marriott City Center, and a 4* which matched the Avalon, going for $149.I picked the 3.5*, and it WAS the Marriott.Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center, Laundry, Tennis.Best Value and Customer Favorite.Total for 2 nites...$175.63.Marriott website quoting $139/nite.Did access HOTWIRE via link or SavingsBarn. Not sure which one...had a little trouble with logging in and password, but finally made deal. Thanks BetterBidding...Here's hoping Thereuare had a good vacation.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Glad it worked out well for you.Vacation was good <thanks> although a few snags along the way which i'll post about soon. Please note that we now have our own HOTWIRE link, please use our own link for any future purchases thru HOTWIRE.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
slruud Posted September 17, 2007 Author Report Posted September 17, 2007 When I booked this stay, Marriott was quoting $139/nite, and shortly after showed no availability. Until last week that is, and now Marriott is quoting $199/nite. Flying free on Southwest Rapid Rewards and saving big $$$ on hotel...can't afford to stay home.
