Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millenium Park Area) May 10 - 13

Hey All,

New to the site, (actually just stumble upon it from the FW site) and priceline/hotwire.

I am planning a weekend getaway to Chicago to meet up with some friends who are attending a wedding from 5/10 - 13. The wedding is being held at the Swissotel, and my friends will be staying there. I can't seem to get a room there via the other travel sites as they are saying there aren't any available.

So looking at the previous posts (one of which was successful at getting the Swissotel 2 days ago) I was wondering if there was a price range I should be looking to spend for the hotel. I know normally its $159+ a night. My other alternative would be to get the Regency which looks to be only a block away, which is currently $169 on Orbitz.

This is probably a stupid question, but is there a way I could actually get this hotel if I use priceline name your price? (Please don't bash me!) Should I not bother with priceline since I would prefer to stay in these 2 hotels?

With PL "Name your own Price" you can't rely on getting a particular hotel so if you really need to be at either of those hotels then HOTWIRE may be an option

Put you dates of travel into HOTWIRE and see what comes up

Then look at this list to see what hotwire hotels have been reported.

You may get a match to the Swissotel -but again- this is no guarantee.

If the hotel description is not in the list then build a HOTWIRE package and see what comes up.

Again no guarantee. :)

If other travel sites are saying the Swissotel is full then your chances of it appearing in PL or hotwire arre slim- though not impossible

At this stage I'd book a cancellable backup at the hotel of your choice and then explore the PL and Hotwire options.
