Eccle Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 I'm looking at hotels for 20th to 27th August. In the results I'm getting up I can get a 4* MTC for $190 a night with Fitness Centre, Restaurant, Business and Internet. I'm guessing at either Helmsley Park Lane or Sofitel, though if I search vacation packages for the same dates none of the results coming up is a direct match, does this sound right?I've also got 4* Times Square for $259 a night with the same facilities. Comparing with the vacation packages this seems to be Millenium Broadway. What sort of rate would be a good price for that time of year? Thanks for your help
AaronJB Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 How about this: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/promotions/p...l?promoCode=Z6HThis is a "stay 4 nights, get 2 free" promotion via Starwood Hotels. If you search for your dates, the Westin Times Square should be $329 a night for 8/20-26, with two free nights. $1,316 total/6 nights = $219 a night average (non-refundable.)You could then add a final day regular rate via a separate reservation ($299 for the last day, bringing the per-day average to $230 a night) or there's a 4* on Hotwire in the times Square area for $229 or a 3.5* Boutique on Hotwire in the Times Square area for $189. There's a bunch of other hotels regular rate for the last day that would be cheaper than the Westin, but then you'd have to move. So, while the majority of this would be non-refundable, it would at least allow you to be assured of what you're getting and have booked through the hotel's website (while *NOT* sure, I'm guessing the Starwood promo would be eligible for earning SPG points - you'd have to call and find out.) If you are not currently an SPG member and are interested the Westin offer, I'd sign up - it's free - before making the purchase.______________As for the hotels you mention on Hotwire, I'm guessing the 4* is the Helmsley Park Lane. Not sure about the 4*, but I'm guessing if the packages show a match, this would be an upgraded Millennium Broadway. However, I'd recommend the Westin deal for cheaper.
Eccle Posted April 22, 2007 Author Report Posted April 22, 2007 Thank you so much for that, I really appreciate it. The Westin is one I've wanted to stay in for a while but never found an affordable price for, that sounds a great offer.
