formulafun Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 I have been trying to bid on a 4* in san diego downtown for a 1 nite stay on 5/23. I have been trying the rebid with a stratagy starting at $90 and going up in $5 incriments with no winners. After the 24 hour waiting period I started again at $125 again $5 incriments with no luck. Today i started at $145 and bid to $200 still no luck. Is this because of the time of the week/year or what? I see other winning bids of 4* from $99 to $145. I did win a bid for a 1 nite stay at the Omni on 5/31 for $105Any help would be appreciated!
thereuare Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific (based upon supply/demand)... what is the best rate you can find thru traditional methods at a 4* hotel in this zone? Use the hotels reported in the Priceline Hotel List and the BetterChecker to research rates.Did you also try HOTWIRE? I just did a HOTWIRE search for your date and there is a 4* hotel in the Downtown area for $179/nite (each company uses their own rating system, so this may or may not be equivalent to a priceline 4*... but it may be better than paying $200+ for a hotel room if there is nothing else reasonably priced) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
