Is there a one star in this area of NYC that would be on Priceline? I have put in bids(all stars) but no luck. I would like to spend under $160 a night but I also want the hotel to be clean any suggestions?

What date(s) are you hoping to stay?

No 1* have been reported in New York (doesn't mean they aren't there).

1* on Pl tend to be

Super 8

EconoLodge

Best Value Inns

Days Inn

Travelodge

and a few more

Tripadvisor shows there is an Econolodge and Super 8 in Times Square.

Hotwire only shows 1* in Newark Airport and Hoboken.

Is there a reason that you want to be in Times Square?

I will be there from May 13th-15th. I want to be in Time Square because it's my mom's first trip and she doesn't do so well w/walking long distances. I stayed in the Milford Plaza for $95 (priceline) back in Feb. and it was great. I am having no luck it seems this time around.

Does the credit card holder who's bidding have to be checking in at the hotel?? Let's say I am traveling alone but want to book the trip on my friends credit card can I do that?

If you look at Hotwire and input your dates and areas you'll see that there are few hotels in your price range.

(Hotwire prices tend to be slightly higher than winning PL bids)

Use the Hotwire hotel list and also the Hotwire Vacatiions page to see what are the possible hotels.

If none are listed then come back and ask here for an educated guess (not from me though :) )

Then use either the Maps for location and reviews or Tripadvisor to get reviews.

No.

There is a box on the first page where you bid that has an entry

Reservation Name (Age 21 or older)

Please enter the name of the person who will be checking into the hotel. They must present a valid photo ID and credit card.

So I can pay w/ my friends credit card(that will not be checking in) just as long as I have a credit card and I.D. at check in everything will be fine?? I have had trouble w/ that in TX I have had a rm paid for by someone else and when I show up to check in since I am not the name on the credit card the hotel would not let me check in so that's why I was confused.

As long as you put your name (the person who is checking in) in the field where it asks who the hotel room is for, you won't have any problems.

The name on the credit card used to pay priceline isn't even transmitted to the hotel (they pay for the room with their own credit card)
