Megas Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 the first one: 4* MTE with fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet and tennis. The price is $209. I see on the list that it could either be the Grand Hyatt or Inter-Continental. The thing that is throwing me is the regular rate is listed as $263.50. That price doesn't match up with either.the second one: 4* MTC with fitness, restaurant and high speed internet. The price is $278. This doesn't add up to one of the hotels on the list. Suggestions?Thank you!
thereuare Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 The retail prices HOTWIRE shows are not reliable enough to be used to identify properties. Essentially they show a retail price for a hotel at that star level in that zone... but not that particular property. The 4* in MTC has not yet been identified, if i were to take a guess, it may be the Helmsley Park Lane with a dropped Business icon, but that's just speculation.Either way, the 4* MTE property seems like a much better deal. However, note this Priceline Win as well as this Priceline New York City thread for which the Inter-Continental has been won for $150/nite for dates which are the same as your own. No guarantee that rate is still available, or if you will be successful at that price (and if you are if you'll even receive the Inter-Continental), but seems like it would be a logical assumption and worth trying if you're flexible in the hotel you receive. If you do use hotwire please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make. thereuare Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Assuming MTE, MTW and UM/CPS are all acceptable, I would try the following:At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180.Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Megas Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Thank you for your help. I had to go through the re-bid process quite a few times. But I finally got the room! And for less than the hotwire price. I'm not sure if this should be listed under priceline now, but I got the Intercontinental for $180/night.Thank you again for your help!
