fairygirl149 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Hi, I have been navigating around your site for several hours trying to learn how to place a bid on a Chicago hotel. I went to Hotwire and found 3 hotels (4* in North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast $259 , 4 * hotel in Magnificent Mile Area -Streeterville $256 and 3* in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville $222) that look promising. I tried to identify them by searching for Chicago hotels, but I have no idea what I am doing. I am taking my daughter to Chicago this Thursday and need a hotel for 3 nights. She is looking at colleges and wants to stay along the Mag Mile so she can shop. Can you help me identify these hotels and tell me how much I should bid? I will pay the asking price of any of them, but I would rather get them for cheaper if I can at this late date. Thank you so much!
thereuare Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! With HOTWIRE there is no bidding... they show you the price and you choose to take it or not. If you wish to go that route post the dates of your stay, the zone and star rating of each property, and the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with each and we will try to help you identify them.If you want to try priceline (where there is bidding involed) let us know which priceline zones you're willing to accept as well as your maximum bid... we will then suggest a strategy for you to follow. If you haven't see this thread i'd also give it a read: I've Never Used Priceline or HotwireLet us know which route you'd like to go our ask any questions that you may have... we'll then advise based upon your preferences. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Are you staying for 4/19-22? The Embassy Suites Lakefront is $218 via Orbitz (use promo code MEGA50 for $50 off the final total.)There's nothing of note on HOTWIRE that I can see. There's not much left for 19th-22nd, but there's some possibilities if you're willing to move (a hotel that has availability for one of the days and the not the others, then move to a nearby hotel for the other dates.)I don't know how successful Priceline will be, given the convention that ends on the 20th.
fairygirl149 Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Thanks so much! I went ahead and booked the Embassy Suites Lakefront per your suggestion and used the coupon code.
