Priceline Hotel: 4*/5* Strip from 5/20 to 5/24

I am travelling to Vegas soon, and am looking to spend my time there in a nice hotel on the strip. With that said, these dates (5/20 - 5/24) seem really expensive. Unfortunately they are set and cannot be changed.

I don't really have a maximum budget for the hotel but obviously the less it costs me, the more money I have to actually spend while in Vegas! =)

It looks like I'll be expecting to pay at least $250/night for a 4* on the Strip for those dates; do you have any advice or other options I could try to get the best deal for my money?

Thanks in advance!

I think I would split my bid if it would reduce the overall cost of the trip, and I'd consider staying in a 3* - 4*. Ideally, I'd love to spend some time at a 5* hotel but it seems like it would be unrealistic with these dates.

For the hotel pool, I don't really mind either way: if I have access to it, great, if not, I won't be that upset.

I asked about a pool because i see Bills Gambling Hall (previously the Barbary Coast) available for ~$190/nite... it's an older hotel, 3 stars, and has no pool, but it has a great location right on the center strip and the reviews are very good.

If that is acceptable i then think you can get a 4* hotel for the balance of your stay in the $125-$150 range. If this all seems plausible let us know and we'll go thru the complete details and get a more definitive rate and location for the last two nites of your stay.

You can book Bills Gamblin Hall directy from their website for $185/nite.

For the balance you have a few options:

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel cener strip for 5/22-5/24 for $145/nite (this is believed to be Aladdin, but could possibly be Paris or Caesears)

If you want to gamble to try and save a bit more...

1) HOTWIRE has the same 4* above for the first nite of 5/22 for $194/nite. If this is the Aladdin, you can then purchase the 2nd nite HERE for $65/nite

2) If you purchase the first nite and it's not the Aladdin, you can then do a search on HOTWIRE for the remaining nite and what is believed to be the same hotel (same amenities and trip advisor rating) shows for $99/nite

3) Figure out which route above you prefer and then try to beat that rate by using priceline

While I like this plan, I am travelling with a friend who would rather be closer to the MGM Grand as he will need to frequently walk between the hotel we choose and the MGM on the days of our trip.

Are there any options that you have seen that could get us closer to the MGM than the Bill's/Aladdin combo?

The first two nites are extremely difficult in terms of price... and you'll need to chose between price and convenience.

For the last two nites you can book the Excalibur for $151/nite or the Tropicana for $124/nite... although the Aladdin is a much better value than both (imo) and you're sacrificing quality for promximity to the MGM Grande.

As well, the Alladin is not really that far from the MGM Grande. If your friend can't walk that distance, he could just jump on the public bus for a couple of dollars (or the monorail).

PS- if you do go with the Tropicana i'd suggest one of the Tower Rooms and not the lowest price Garden Rooms
