Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip) Venetian

On the Venetian web site, the rate listed is $279 for all 3 nights, unless I am looking at the wrong room type.

My most recent bid today was for 2 rooms at $218, with $205 and $195 being previous bids while the rates were listed at $279. I like the Venetian because there is a chance we may have to put 3 in each room, and 650 sq. ft with sofa beds sounds great. We can go a little higher but I was just curious if you had any ideas on a better bid or if the rates will stay steady. As I've read on here, they seem to fluctuate quite a bit at the Venetian.

The Venetian actually averages their room rates on multi-nite stays... if you check each nite individually you will see that $279 is the average, with rates for each nite $239, $349, $259 respectively.

How high are you willing to bid for a 5* hotel on the strip?

I didn't realize that. I am not used to checking the venetian's rates, sorry for missing that. With taxes included, we'd probably like to keep it under $100 per person/per night, or right at that. There are some decent hotels that you can book standard for around 85-90 per person/per night but I liked the larger rooms of the 5*.

How much is that per room per nite before taxes and fees... i'm not sure how to compute it since your previous comment that you're not even sure how many will be in your group yet.

Sorry, I am going off of 3 in a room. So a bid of $215 yielded 80/night per person.

So essentially the Venetian's own website rate of $279/nite is within your budget... so the question then is how much do you have to save in order to make an opaque purchase worthwhile? (keeping in mind that with an opaque purchase you could receive a 5* hotel other than the Venetian)

... and please use pre-tax and pre-fee amounts in order to avoid any confusion in regards to your maximum bid.

I tried $225 this afternoon and they countered with $260. I used my rebid and they accepted 2 rooms at $243 for 3 nights. Thank you for your help and the SavingsBarn.com links to help me with the bidding.
