LoneStar Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I have some Chinese friends visiting the US. I am recommending they obtain their hotels through priceline. Canadians and some others nationalities seem to have had success putting in a phony US city and zip code. Assuming they have a valid major credit card, is that likely to work for them?I also recall there is a Hong Kong-based priceline, so perhaps that is another option for them.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
thereuare Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 The following thread should work fine: Priceline Non-US Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
LoneStar Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 Thanks. Yeah, that's the thread I came across. Sounds like the same strategy should work for Chinese nationals -- assuming they have an appropriate credit card, and assuming the system recognizes Chinese cards. I'll let everyone know what happens. Right now they seem interested in bidding, but they'll have to get comfortable with the process (not so easy when it's something very foreign to your experience).
