Priceline Hotel: Hotel near Las Vegas Apr 20-21

Hi there!

I need a hotel room for 6 (2 adults 4 kids) in the Vegas area on our way home from California on the 20th. It doesn't really matter where it is, just close to Vegas. I saw that this weekend is a big convention weekend, so if there's another place that's not as full that's close, we'll consider that as well.

What should I be expecting to pay?

As i recently commented in another thread, i think it's very risky to use the opaque providers for one room for six people. Priceline only guarantees double occupancy and HOTWIRE will allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, so six is pushing the limits (imo) and beyond the acceptable capacity of most standard hotel rooms (even when booking direct).

Ok, I don't have a problem doing 2 rooms with 3 in each room. Any good advice there?

I'm assuming you're "ok" with bidding on priceline for triple occupancy when they only guarantee double (not a big risk, imo, but one to be aware of).

What is your maximum bid? What is your minimum star rating?

I'm ok with that, because I don't think it's a big risk. I hope to get at least 2.5 stars, and would like to pay around $40 per room.
