All we need was a place to crash for 6 hours & resume driving, location was picked as my best guess as to how far south I could safely drive after a 9:30 p.m. arrival at ORD.

$31 was a pretty good price for the room, and we will be trying to repeat it (at least once).

However, we did have a couple issues ...

(1) Building is not secured at night. Just open the front door & walk in. Self-service checkin was clever and convenient.

(2) Someone (probably in a non-smoking room) was smoking in the halls & stairwell. I went back down to the lobby to fetch a water bottle I'd left down there & spotted (& stomped out) a burning butt someone someone has just dropped in the stairway. Makes a guy nervous ....
